2024 Authentic-Inspired International Art Fair in Jeju,

Ancient Beauty of Humanity

Jeju Island was chosen as an ‘Island of World Peace’ in 2005. The island was also chosen as a UNESCO ‘World Natural Heritage Site’ in 2007.

The seed of peace has been planted in this island of natural beauty, moving beyond the pains of history. However, that peace never grows on its own.

Like an aging evergreen from the Saryeonee Forest or a thorny shrub in Gotjawal protecting the forests of Jeju Island, we have organized the Authentic-Inspired International Art Fair in hopes of protecting the peace of Jeju and for its role in promoting world peace.

In this art fair, 55 Korean artists and 12 International artists including from the U.S., U.K. the Netherlands and Japan will exhibit works for a total of 67 artists.

Art has long-existed as a medium to connect nature and mankind, link the past and present,heal wounds and suffering. Traditions, specifically,are the ancient beauty of humanity created by those that live on the land.

We hope that hosting the Authentic-Inspired International Art Fair on this island of natural beauty will broadcast messages of peace on Jeju’s sea breezes to the conflicted world and bring harmony and healing for a more unified world.

Rules and regulations for participating invited overseas artists:

1. The Art Fair in Jeju Organizing Committee will make recommendations and determine whether to issue invitations for Foreign artists to participate in the 2023 Authentic-Inspired International Art Fair in Jeju.

2. Invited foreign artists will be provided with $200 (U.S.) for the cost of producing the work. The organizing committee will also pay expenses related to the shipping of the work.

3. If an invited foreign artist wants to sell their work, the artist can determine the selling price through consultation with the Art Fair Steering Committee, and the entire sales amount will be delivered to the artist.
4. Korean insurance will provide coverage for any damages incurred in Korea during the exhibition and any damages incurred during return shipment to the Artist.

5. If foreign artists come to Korea to participate in the Art Fair , they will receive complimentary accommodations in Jeju Island. There are two choices: 3 days and 2 nights in a designated hotel in Jeju Island, or a Temple Stay for 3 days and 2 nights, whichever the artist prefers.

6. Foreign invited artists participating in the 2023 Authentic-Inspired International Art Fair in Jeju are expected to comply with all Organizing Committee rule & regulations.
