인간의 가장 오래된 아름다움 ,

제주는 2005년 세계평화의 섬으로 지정되었고 2007년에는 세계자연유산 유네스코에 등재되어 역사의 아픔을 벗어나 아름다운 자연의 섬에 평화의 씨앗을 심었습니다.

평화는 결코 저절로 자라나지 않습니다.
제주의 숲을 지키는 사려니 숲길의 비자나무 한 그루, 곶자왈의 참가시나무 한 그루 처럼

우리는 제주의 평화를 지키고 세계평화확산의 도시로 지켜가고자 아름다운 제주, 아름다운 전통을 주제로 제주국제전통아트페어를 기획하였습니다. 예술은 인간과 자연을 연결하고, 때로는 과거와 현재를 연결하며, 우리 삶의 상처와 고통을 치유하는 매개체로서 이미 오래전부터 존재하였습니다 . 특히 전통이란 그곳의 환경과 토양 속에서 살아가는 인간의 가장 오래된 아름다움입니다

평화의 섬, 아름다운 자연의 섬 제주에서 제주국제 전통아트페어를 통하여 아름다운 평화의 메시지가 제주의 바닷바람을 타고 분열과 고통이 있는 지구촌 곳곳에 화합과 치유의 숲이 되기를 희망합니다.

Ancient Beauty of Humanity

Jeju Island was chosen as an ‘Island of World Peace’ in 2005. The island was also chosen as a UNESCO ‘World Natural Heritage Site’ in 2007.

The seed of peace has been planted in this island of natural beauty, moving beyond the pains of history. However, that peace never grows on its own.

Like an aging evergreen from the Saryeonee Forest or a thorny shrub in Gotjawal protecting the forests of Jeju Island, we have organized the Authentic-Inspired International Art Fair in hopes of protecting the peace of Jeju and for its role in promoting world peace.

Art has long-existed as a medium to connect nature and mankind, link the past and present, heal wounds and suffering. Traditions, specifically, are the ancient beauty of humanity created by those that live on the land.

We hope that hosting the Authentic-Inspired International Art Fair on this island of natural beauty will broadcast messages of peace on Jeju’s sea breezes to the conflicted world and bring harmony and healing for a more unified world.’
